Black Library Website Live

Posted by Bigred at Thursday, March 18, 2010

You heard that right. After who knows how long, Black Library has reopened their new redesigned website.

It features an all new easy to navigate interface and best of all now includes the first of their new print-on-demand titles. Three titles from the days of yore are now available after years of being out of print.

Space Marine
The Gothic War
Insignium Astartes (a fantastic book)

~All the other standard sections like upcoming books, and news are now available. Speaking of news, did you all know Graham McNeill is now an official New York Times Best-selling author thanks to A Thousand Sons? Congratulations Graham!

um ive always like storm of iron. it shows a combined ig army (ie tanks, titans, infantry)

its Iron Warriors vs Guard collective and Space Marines. The Iron Warriors attack an Imperial Fortress holding a very important treasure of which the enemy will attempt to take at all costs.

Commissar Cain novels are always great.

Dan Abnett's Titanicus, Eisenhorn Series, and Ghaunt's Ghosts are always good reads.

The Soul Drinker books were good as well as Cadian Blood, Tread Heads, Desert Raiders

Last Chancers Omnibus was really good.

the Grey Knight Omnibus is good to

Ive heard that Swallows Blood Angel stuff isnt very good so take what you will from that.

Also last but not least

All the Space Wolves books were freaking excellent except for one typo where a guard sergeant who died in the last chapter dies again in the next.

however read them in order or else you miss some good stuff.

Goto has been heralded the antichrist of black library writing what with his brayying tyranids, multilaser toting Space Marines, and and children destroying Falcon Skimmer crafts. (also i think there was something about pedophile eldars?)

Hey i was torn between wolves and crimson fist. I choose wolves due to the models and fluff.

Also the fact i had a blue army already .

I have 1 marine (goody chapter ) Very Happy

Speaking of blue armies, the Ultramarines Omnibus is okay. The hero is a rogue Ultramarine, heavy on honor, but ignores the Codex Astartes like nobody's business. That said I was entertained by the short story and the first two novels. Haven't read the last one because it's about an Ultramarine befriending a Chaos demon and it being okay.

if its the 3rd book of the series then yes it happened on the iron warrior planet. if harv wants ultramarine action, then the 5th book has the main character reuniting with his chapter and company for some marine on tau action. not sure how good the book is though, got it but havent gotten around to finishing it.

well graham did just get on the times best seller although that may be just because lots of people want to know about one of the least detailed parts of the heresy.

but i digress.

the beings he works with in that book are not chaos but merely wayward creations of chaos and outcast marines sent their by a daemon against their will (if i remember correctly) to destroy a different daemon

Now don't get me wrong, I liked the way the books were written, just a lot of Ultramarines fans (myself partially) wanted a more traditional Ultramarines hero, not one that was going around essentially decrying the Codex Astartes.

And yeah, it's Dead Sky Black Sun, which I haven't read because it's about Ventris being exiled for doing what was necessary to cut off a part of Hive Fleet Leviathan. I just know there's a Warp Denizen that looks an awful lot like a demon.

well thats the thing about the ultramarine books. its about a marine that is kicked out for doing whats right but going against the codex astartes. its like assbackwards for marines.
