Transport Tactic

Post by themonad on Sat Jun 20, 2009 12:48 am

I want to make sure my understanding of the Open Topped Fast Trukk is correct.
In flat out I lose any attacks that the vehicle itself could make [if it had a weapon] however since the passengers are sitting in an open stopped vehicle they may shoot as normal.
Now if I were to decided to disembark my troops out of the trukk I would need to first move ---> disembark ---> shoot ---> then assault.
From what Ive read, is this supported? The normal rules regarding transports state that if the troops disembark post movement then they can shoot in the moving phase but cannot move. Then along with the sequence of the players turn i could then assault up to 6" with the boys that just disembarked and shot in the previous phase [supported by the Open Topped Transport rule regarding ease of Assault out of a trukk]

you can move your truck up to 12" get out of the truck with 2
" fire your sluggas or shootas (assault 1) then charge a enemy if your within 6" it has to be the same enemy you shot at Very Happy

only bad thing about trukks Armour 10 and being opentop plus 1 to all damage chart rolls

hoped that help clear it up

Awesome, i thought i read that right!
But if the trukk goes "flat out" what are the rules about what the passengers can do? I didnt read anything that made me think they couldnt do the same thing if the trukk went flat out.

hmmm.... just to clarify, you think the passengers in an open topped vehicle can not shoot out of it when it moves flat out?

if that's what you're saying can you point out the rules that state that cause I've tried looking for it several days ago and can't seem to find anything

all it states from what i've seen is that open topped transports do not have any firing points and that guys inside it can fire from it using the hull of the vehicle to measure from. kind of a grey area to me so far

page 66 and 67 just because its opentopped the vehicles fall under transports still and treated like it had firing points if the vehicle cannot fire (due to moving flat out)neither can pass.

Yeah! Difficult terrain offers the most fun. May I recommend cliffs? It really gets those Ork adrenal glands going! Double the high if you shoot all your ammunition before hitting the ground.

Dang, I can't wait to actually play against an ork army. I will probably lose, but killing so many will make feel good!
